Richard Paul Lohse. Retrospective

14/11/2026 – 04/04/2027

In collaboration with MASI in Lugano, the Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich, and the Josef Albers Museum Quadrat in Bottrop, the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in Ludwigshafen is preparing twenty years after the last museum-based survey, an extensive retrospective on Richard Paul Lohse - thus honoring one of the founders of systematic-constructive art in the 20th century.

This ambitious project underscores the significance of Lohse´s ouvre and the central position he occupies in the international art world with his painting. With a selection of more than sixty paintings from the four decisive decades of his artistic career, from the 1940s until his death, the exhibition project illuminates fundamental elements of his rigorous methodological approach as well as historical events, social utopias, and Lohse´s trust in the expressive power of color.
