DELTAQUAKE – Regionale 2014

Alternating between Mannheim and Ludwigshafen, the Regionale DELTAQUAKE exhibition has taken place every two years since 2010. In 1914, the Regionale, now a firmly established exhibition project, is again being organised by the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in collaboration with the Kunstverein Ludwigshafen. The exhibition presents a wide range of contemporary art from the whole region and encompasses all artistic genres from painting, drawing, photography and video to sculpture, object art and installation. As opposed to previous years, artists could no longer apply to partake in the 2014 edition of the show. For the first time they were nominated instead. The directors of the five participating houses in Mannheim and Ludwigshafen, five curators from other institutions and two local art critics each nominated two artists who in turn could invite a further artist to take part in the exhibition. Artists of all age groups with a connection to the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area (Heidelberg, Mannheim, Ludwigshafen) as well as other outlying areas (Karlsruhe, Kaiserslautern, Mainz) were given in this way a platform for the presentation of their works.
